UX Designer (Product)

FULL-TIME · AMSTERDAM

Do you dream about wireframes and flowcharts coming to life?

We’re on a mission to create an online playground for people all around the globe. To help us get there, we're looking for an experienced and ambitious UX Designer with a focus on digital products – someone who always puts Team Human first when cooking up new online experiences.

Would you like to join our fast-growing, award-winning digital company and work on several new digital propositions for millions of users? If you are an ambitious, experienced UX Designer with a proven track-record of shipping scalable, human-centric products and services, then we would love to see your UX Design portfolio!

Note: for this role it's essential that you can independently facilitate user tests in Dutch.

TL;DR:

As our UX Designer (Product), you will help us define how people interact with Poki. You’ll create beautiful and inspiring experiences that help players, game developers and advertisers connect through play. You'll have the amazing opportunity to discover, play, and connect with people and games.

You’ll be working directly with our team of designers and developers to deliver the next iterations of our worldwide gaming platform and related products.

You will also be directly involved in the evolution of our design and product guidelines, extending our design system to create high-quality, detail-oriented UI design work at scale.

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of shipping digital products. You should have the expertise, qualifications, and ambition to take a leading role on everything UX within our team – from formative research to usability testing. You should have professional working proficiency in Dutch.

Your Challenge:

  • Listen with empathy and represent the voice of the user with objectivity.
  • Collect and analyse user behavior through user interviews and experiments (e.g. A/B testing, user tests, benchmark studies, analytics, surveys). You just love doing research – qual and quant.
  • Help the team exchange feedback at all stages of the work, and help us to stay honest about solving the right problems for the right users, in the right way.
  • Create journey maps, process flows and wireframes for design solutions that are innovative yet intuitive and easy to understand for our users.

  • Design convincing mockups and build interactive prototypes in lo/hi fidelity to test with users at an early stage.
  • Continuously iterate and improve the products of the Poki Platform: i.e. our gaming playground, content management system, developer toolkit and insight dashboards.
  • Develop creative solutions while striving to be analytical and objective. You make decisions that attempt to find long-term value for our business and users.
  • Co-create and maintain our design system to design products that deliver a great, cohesive user experience across our entire product ecosystem.

the complicated to the simple.”

– C.W. Ceram

You:

  • Have a relevant degree and at least 3 years professional experience in digital product design.
  • Have a track record of launching successful projects at scale, with a focus on consumer-facing digital products and experiences.
  • Are fluent in Dutch ánd English, and already based in The Netherlands – preferably around Amsterdam.
  • Have excellent interviewing skills, and proven experience with user research (both formative and summative). You're proactive in organizing user tests and can facilitate these in Dutch.
  • Have a strong portfolio demonstrating your hands-on design experience, showcasing real live work, as well as your design process.
  • Have a deep understanding and up-to-date knowledge of design trends and modern web application technologies, including best practices in responsive web design.
  • Have experience designing for web and multiple platforms (Android, iOS, mobile web, desktop) to deliver consistent experiences across touchpoints.
  • You balance big-picture UX thinking with tiny usability details because you always design to support real behaviors of our users.
  • Have experience taking designs from conception to implementation, with an ability to design and iterate based on qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Demonstrate expert level mastery of all essential design tools (i.e. Adobe CS, Sketch, Figma, old-school pencils) and solid experience with prototyping tools.
  • Have excellent storytelling skills to present and communicate your work, demonstrating strong product thinking, understanding of strategic and tactical design, and a deep knowledge of design patterns and processes.

We especially like portfolios that demonstrate:

  • Advanced prototyping skills. Show of your practical experience with building lo/hi-fidelty prototypes for user tests.
  • Motion design skills. We love screen transitions, UI animations and other micro interaction goodness.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to use input from analytics and UX research to discover and refine who were building for, what their needs are, and how we can bring more value to them.

We offer:

  • The opportunity to affect our products and global audience with your expertise

  • A flat organisation with lots of personal responsibility and room for personal growth
  • A chance to build your career with our award-winning, fast-growing company
