Poki is a playground where users, game developers, and advertisers come together to play and create. Let the world play!
We are Poki! An Amsterdam based tech scale-up. With our dedicated team of 40, we are on a mission to create the ultimate online playground: a platform for play where players and game developers come together to play and create. We are the global market leaders in web games with our platform Poki.com, reaching more than 50 million monthly players on all devices.📱 🖥
The popularity of the web as a destination for games is growing rapidly, and so is our platform. To grow our game developer community and sign the most popular games, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager.
The games on our platform are created by our thriving community of over 350 independent game developer teams from all over the world (such as Madbox 🇫🇷, Featherweight 🇦🇺, Unico Studio 🇺🇸, Docski 🇯🇲 and Martin Magni 🇸🇪). We help our game developers to be successful on web. By sharing the advertising revenue generated in their games, more and more of them are able to make a living and grow their companies from their monthly earnings on Poki.
As our Business Development Manager, you are constantly looking for content with hit potential and talented game developers. You combine a great feeling for games with outstanding people skills, and enjoy the thrill of generating new business in a growing and competitive niche.
Identify content with hit potential, whether it’s an early prototype created during a game jam or an evergreen IP with billions of downloads in the app stores (such as Subway Surfers and Temple Run 2). Select hidden gems from the numerous game submissions coming in on a daily basis as well as from what you see elsewhere in the industry and engage prospects with what Poki has to offer.
Partner up with talented game developers all around the world, from indie developers (like Blumgi and Devortel) to some of the most successful game studios of the past decade (like Crossy Road creator Hipster Whale). Support those game developers financially by offering them our competitive deal terms, and customizing these according to their ambitions and needs.
Be the face of our platform - attend industry events like GDC and Pocket Gamer Connects, and participate as an expert in the jury for game jams like js13kGames. You are a web games advocate in the industry, and inform our internal product roadmap with the insights you gather in the industry.
Have 5+ years experience in the gaming industry and a proven track record in business development, from prospecting to dealmaking.
Combine a gut feel for games with an analytical approach in order to identify promising games and skilled game developers.
Have a passion for games and helping game developers be successful, allowing them to focus on what they love most: creating awesome games.
Have an open mind to different cultures, and are able to do engage with a wide range of partners - from young hobbyists to C-level executives.
Thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with a community defined by personal connections, a growth mindset and trust.
